Welcome to 9th Grade Global History! In this course, we cover the beginnings of human civilization and go to about the 1600s, where 10th grade History picks up. All submitted work will be assigned and graded through Google Classroom and grades will be posted on JumpRope. Every once in a while in History class, the students give each other shout-outs for their work, participation, or anything else they feel deserves one. We'll share those shout-outs here - the most recent are at the top & previous rounds are below.
Iris E has helped me check over my notes and is a genuinely amazing person.
John L is someone who participates plenty and I think he deserves a shout out for his outstanding purpose in class as someone who shares his ideas and thoughts.
Elina Z - We help each other out in class and I’m grateful to have her as a peer and as my friend. She deserves a shout out because when Elina does talk during seminars she brings up great points, Eliana is right on topic with good ideas that I can agree with and further think about.
Harrison G - He has contributed thoughtful and nuanced ideas to our class conversations. His ideas are really great and he's one of the first to raise his hand in class.
Cesar V - I missed a week of school because I was sick and he helped fill me in on what I missed. I always appreciate how he contributes to the conversation even when others are not. His comments are always thoughtful and add to the topic at hand.
Peter J - because I feel like he does a good job on adding on more ideas when we discuss.
Henry D - He has very persuasive points in history seminars and always seems to be paying attention. Henry always shares new perspectives on topics and participates in class. He is always ready to answer a question and is participating all the time.
Peter C - I think that he deserves a shoutout because during partner discussions he always shares his ideas and adds on to what other people say, as well as the fact that he introduces new and important topics during our seminars. Also, he deserves a shout-out for being supportive and being kind to those who don't understand.
Kaden J - he is very helpful whenever you are missing information and can help you if you are absent.
Jayson A - my partner deserves a shout out because when we chat he helps me with my work and then he also helps me when I miss stuff in class he is very helpful as a partner.
Carina N deserves a shout out for the great points she makes during group discussions.
Anthony DA - This person deserves a shoutout because whenever we do turn and talks its always a great discussion.
Jack U - He's easy to build ideas off of and a great person to work with.
Amiah C is a good partner.
The Whole Class - because I was always able to find someone to help me out on whatever were doing and also because all of us worked so hard on our blue books. The reason why is because every has built upon each other very well and we always added on new ideas to each other.
Annie VB - She gives very nuanced responses during class discussions. She is always helpful during group discussions and very informative.
David F - because he has interesting comments. He understands the assignment and never fails to get correct answers.
Sidra H - She is very helpful and gave very interesting comments, and also is independent in her work.
Sabine M - She is a very nice person and she doesn't make me feel left out.
Reece R - he's always eager to ask me questions if he doesn't understand the work, and he is very helpful.
Chaise S deserves a shout out because she always makes sure to contribute to group conversations by giving her opinion and thoughts. She is also good at listening to her peers when they are talking.
Jason D - He helps out in class discussion a lot.
Mathilde F - Because she helps people when they are confused and contributes unique and interesting ideas.
Savannah - I have seen that she has been a hard worker and genuinely wants to improve her grade and participation skills. She did very well adding onto other people's ideas during the last seminar.
James L - He spoke a lot and had good points. I think this person deserves a shout out because in our previous seats during turn and talks we got to share opinions on the lesson and it was very helpful to hear other students thoughts on that lesson. He shares out great ideas about the different topics that we discuss in class.
Catalina C inspires other people to complete their work by being a helpful table-mate and a very helpful person to me when i need help. She understands the assignment and never fails to get correct answers.
I think that Andrea LO deserves a shout out because she always raises her hand and participates and also helps the class understand the topic by asking questions.
Royce R - Because even though he is quiet he still puts in hard work and always looks focused. He's always helping me out when I'm stuck and is very thoughtful.
Lara C - from the time I've been sitting next to her I feel like I've seen and heard improvement coming from her so she deserves a great shout out.
Theo H - almost always has a opinion I haven't thought about whenever he raised his hand and speaks.
Tiffany B - Because she always helps me when I need help or when I’m stuck.
Khloe M - Since she turns and talks with me about the topic and stays on task when my seat partner is missing. She understands the assignment and never fails to get correct answers.
Everyone has been on key, so I am more proud of everyone I knew since middle school! (SOF) that's growing out their old ways and changing for the better and good.
Liam P - he always has something important or meaningful to add to the conversation or topic. He doesn't create noise and he always raises his hand to add on many strong ideas in class. When we were watching the Rome documentaries and Gladiator me and him had days where one of us had notes and the other had little so we would exchange notes. This helped me with the Rome quiz. He sat with me during the beginning of the school year and helped me out a lot.
Noah F - Because he was helpful to be next to and worked hard to finish his history essay.
Colette TM - she always helping other people if they do not understand something and always keeping me focused like for example giving me reminders to stop talking. She's really helpful. She always shares out great points!
Yasin E - He always puts a smile on my face and come to make sure if I'm ok.
Scarlett H deserves a shoutout because her ideas are very insightful and present to the class.
Silas R - He elaborates loudly and clearly. He always has interesting comments and builds off of others ideas. He always participates and he always come up with Smart ideas.
Leah H - I think she deserves a shout out because I always see her taking organized and meaningful notes in class. And not just that, but when I have questions she's able to explain the topic with efficiency. Also because she's always kind and ready to help.
Zahra B - Answered the questions I asked about the blue book. Put my materials away even when I didn’t ask her to.
Maya P - Because she helped me few times. She emotionally makes me feel connected within the learning environment, helps me understand the concept of what I'm reading, learning, or understanding. Whenever I'm in need of help I find it very easy to ask or question something I'm unable to completely understand I know she can help me understand it not by telling me fully, but helping me by asking related questions and summarizing something we've learned before to help me lead up to an answer. She is sweet, caring, and very easy to understand when working. <3
Hans Ji K deserves a shout out because during partner share or turn and talk she adds a lot of good ideas that actually help me realize more about the said topic we're learning.

Oscar W deserves a shout out because he is always pushing the discussion forward in class and is always making class interesting. He says a lot of helpful things in partner talks.
Babacar D deserves it because he always shares his ideas to the class and participates a lot in partner discussions. He gives great answers, insightful comments and participates a lot, and is nice and cooperative.
Elina Z does her work efficiently and makes me wanna work better. She is a great friend and always tries to help me out in global studies. She has neat handwriting and the best notes.
Henry D is good at adding on and keeping a conversation going and being on task. He is always sharing out his knowledge in class and communicates his ideas in a way people understand. He took amazing notes while we watched the documentary and was able to manage notes as well as watching.
Ivie H kept me focused in on collecting data in my notebook and she gives insightful comments and connections.
Lucas V is a great partner and knows a lot about geography.
Mara H always has something insightful and interesting to say, and is amazing at starting discussions.
Harrison G deserves kudos because he understands the context of what we are learning and he is a really good participator in class, I mean like raises his hand, talks to partners and proves good points.
John L deserves a shoutout as he often was energetic and often times helped me when I didn't understand something.
Dallas N, because I feel like she makes all of the other students including me feel welcome and happy in school.
Amiah C helps when I'm stuck and always contributes to conversation.
David F deserves a shoutout because he speaks out and it helps the class and the rest of us with our work.
Charlie D asks questions when she is curious or when the idea is not clarified. She is also really positive.
Seba M helps me out when I miss a day and need to get caught up. He's also kind to everyone and gets his work done. He's also a great partner.

Annie V is helpful during turn & talks and explains things really well.
Chaise S always helps me in class and is great at catching people up.

The whole class has meaningful discussions and they all respect different opinions.

JT, because he always asks questions and likes to find the important facts learnt in a lesson. He also brings up things most people don't think of.
Lara C deserves a shoutout because she is such a great tablemate, she also participates a lot.
David S is a helpful classmate.
KJ deserves it because whenever we spoke together to review our work it helped me get a better understanding on what I would do to make it better

Sofia J is really nice and helped me with work when we sat together
Tiffany B, because she's really helpful as a table partner, and even as someone who is not a partner because she is always helping people if they need it.
Mathilde F, because every time I need help figuring out what the homework is or how to do it she is always willing to help me out.
Collete T-M, because she's always open and progressive when it comes to discussion by adding onto others while always incorporating her own ideas on the topic. She always shares out to the class and explains in detail why, always proving her points. She's also a great partner.
Liam P deserves a shoutout because he always has a very interesting idea to say and he always adds important ideas to the discussion. He also has some great ideas that contributed to my thinking. He's also a great partner.
Sebastien S has really great work and helped me with my note taking skills. He promotes discussions by both asking and answering questions for the class

Sophie B really helps me understand and always helps when needed
Silas R always participates in class discussion and asks important and helpful information.
Dylan V, because when he was my table mate he was helpful if I was confused about something or I needed something he was also just nice and funny.
Jon S, because we both helped each other with the notes when one of didn't understand something.
Leah H is always so helpful, making the learning environment more expressive and better to discuss and further understand. She also has great annotations.
Kealani L deserves a shout out because she has been a great table partner who really add a lot and keep the conversation going.

Caleb V always contributes to the class discussion and he challenges people to go deeper with their thinking.
Scarlett H deserves one because when we were sitting next to each other when I was stuck with a question she would help me deeply understand it.
