ROLE DESCRIPTIONS AND ELECTIONS INFO!!!
The roles for the ASS 2021-22 Committee have officially been announced! We are looking for... a PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, SOCIAL-MEDIA COORDINATOR, SOCIALS & EVENTS COORDINATOR, TREASURER and WELFARE OFFICER! If you are interested in any of these roles and want more information about what each role entails, please click here!!!
Participate in our first virtual recording!
With regulations and guidelines meaning it is going to get increasingly difficult for us to meet up and sing together in person, we have decided to have a go at recording virtually!
After a vote, we have landed on Hallelujah (arr. Pentatonix) for our first go!
We are having an online rehearsal via zoom (Tuesday 3/11/2020 7PM) so if you fancy having a go then come along!!

AUDITIONS OPEN!
Auditions are now open for the A Cappella Society of Sussex’ competitive group – Sussinct!
This year we will be entering the ICCAs (the International Championship of Collegiate A cappella) and take part in their virtual competition series. This involves making virtual ‘box’ singing videos to be submitted in an international competition! If possible and safe to do so, we’ll also be singing in person as soon as we are able to. And don’t forget our awesome socials and friends you’ll make along the way!!

SO! To become part of Sussinct you need to take part in our virtual auditions! You need to:
-Film a video of yourself singing a cappella (no accompaniment) of a verse and chorus of a song
-The song can be any choice and any style – whatever you think shows off your voice best!
-The video can be up to 1 minute
-DEADLINE IS 10PM MONDAY 12TH OCTOBER
- Upload your audition to the Google Form audition sheet here!
Remember your audition video doesn’t need to be perfect or filmed with any fancy equipment! We just need to be able to hear your voice 😊
Remember also that this is our COMPETITIVE group, we will also be running a unauditioned group for people who want to get involved in a more relaxed and inclusive setting!

FRESHERS' WEEK 2020 IS FINALLY HERE!!!
We hope you have a smooth move-in weekend and you enjoy this week! We have 2 events for you: an ACCA-AWESOME Pitch Perfect Screening this Thursday, and an ACCA-AMAZING Virtual Games Night next Tuesday! Take every opportunity you can to meet new people and have an incredible week! We can't wait to meet you!!!

COUNTDOWN TO FRESHERS WEEK 2020: 5 WEEKS TO GO!!! Whether you’re a new student just arriving at Sussex, or if you’ve been here a while, ASS is a great place to meet new people and make some new friends! It is the perfect place to find all those acca-awesome people who love singing, jamming out and watching pitch perfect and listening to pentatonix on repeat, just as much as you do!!
4 WEEKS TO GO!
THE LONG WAIT CONTINUES... it’s 4 weeks to go until freshers week 2020 and we have another reason for you to join ASS!!!! As a part of our society, you will not only have the opportunity to connect with the A Cappella community on campus and in Brighton, through lots of exciting local projects , but also further afield in the whole of the U.K. and even on a global scale!!

THE COUNTDOWN CONTINUES... Just 3 weeks to go until Freshers 2020!!!! ANd another reason to join ASS... we have our unauditioned group up and running and we hope to set up a competitive group soon so you could have the chance to take your dining to the next level, with opportunities to compete on regional , national , and maybe even international stages in competitions all over the U.K. and maybe even abroad!!

JUST 2 MORE WEEKS UNTIL FRESHERS 2020!!! So, reason no. 4 to join ASS is that it is the perfect chance to also collaborate with other amazing societies at Sussex! From SMuTS , and SussexSounds, to Chamber Choir and other societies in the Performing Arts Group here on campus, these collaborations give you the chance to meet even more new people with similar passions to yours!!

FRESHERS IS SOOOOOOO CLOSE NOW! JUST 1 WEEK TO GO BEFORE MOVE-IN WEEKEND! We can’t wait to welcome you to campus next week and we have another reason for you to join ASS... we are a BRAND NEW SOCIETY so it is the perfect time to join! With no restrictive traditions or pre-formed cliquey friendships, this is a great opportunity to meet new people and help us to build the society into something great!!!

THE COUNTDOWN IS OVER! Freshers' week is finally here and we are so excited!!! Our final reason for you to join us in ASS is because there is something for EVERYONE here!!! Whether you want a chill evening jamming out with our un-auditioned group, or compete in acca-amazing competitions in our competitive group, or if youre just an ACCA SUPERFAN and want to be surrounded by other like-minded people, ASS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!
