■ Human study
Healthy volunteer, obesity patients, and eating disorder patients are studied using electroceutical (transcranial electrical stimulation, TES, tDCS), fMRI, digital phenotyping, digital therapeutics, cognitive tests, questionnaire, eating behavior analysis to investigate the mechanism and novel therapeutics for eating behavior, eating related psychology, obesity and food addiction. In addition, based on newly developed technologies, we are on the process of founding new startup for geriatric sarcopenia obesity patients and comprehensive anti-aging therapies.
■ Research Topics
- Elucidating the role of the brain regions in regulating body metabolism
- Understanding the relationship between eating behavior phenotypes and brain regions
- Identifying the pathogenesis of metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and eating disorders and developing treatment methods
- Developing effective treatment methods through digital therapy and electronic medicine
1) Neuroimaging: Functional MRI (food visual cue stimulated brain response, resting state), structural imaging MRI/CT/PET
2) Digital Healthcare: Digital phenotype assessment and digital therapeutics for metabolic diseases such as obesity/diabetes/eating disorders
3) Cognitive task (computerized task): Psychological/cognitive assessment and treatment of metabolic diseases through various cognitive psychological tasks such as food photo/verbal response, etc.
4) Lifestyle intervention therapy: coaching/digital therapies to improve eating habits, exercise habits, and daily routines/emotions/motivation
5) Electroceuticals: Transcranial Electrical Stimulation TES (tDCS, transcranial direct current stimulation)
6) Pharmaceutical Research: Study of effects and mechanisms of metabolic disease treatment agents
7) Questionnaires: Assessment of psychological, behavioral, cognitive, emotional, and medical conditions related to metabolic diseases such as obesity
8) Epidemiologic studies: Epidemiologic studies related to metabolic diseases
