DESCRIPTION
Floral Design is a class structured to enhance students’ knowledge and ability in the floriculture industry. This class meets “A” through “G” UC/CSU requirements for fine arts. Topics covered in this course include flower preparation and design, identification of materials and tools, caring for and selecting plants, and management of a retail floral operation. Students will gain hands-on experience by performing the tasks performed in a retail flower shop. Agriculture education classes are designed for students to learn hands-on skills and develop leadership through classroom/ laboratory instruction, FFA, and supervised agricultural experiences. In addition to classroom instruction, students will be able to participate in FFA/community service and plan, start, and/or continue a supervised agriculture experience (S.A.E.) project to ensure a well-rounded agriculture experience.
