Vision
The vision of Westridge Middle School Counseling program is to provide a learning environment with various opportunities for students to thrive and succeed. At Westridge, we know that our strength comes from our diversity. 30 different languages are represented in our school. We value and respect others in our daily interactions. We know that learning from our challenges builds resiliency and moves us toward educational goals.
Mission
The mission of the Westridge Middle School Counseling program is to support our students in three areas. First, we will listen and provide support for social emotional needs. Second, we will listen and advocate for our students to find working solutions for academic concerns. Third, we will explore career readiness and help students experience how school habits relate to a working environment after high school graduation.
Why does the student services team meet with students during school?
1) Parent referrals: Parents know their children best. If you experience a major shift in your student's behavior call us and we can check in with your student. Student behavior can speak louder than words!
We believe in the development of the WHOLE child.

2) Students self report and request to see the counselor or social worker. In middle school we strive to teach students to advocate for themself. Seeking out help is a life skill!

3) Our staff also uses office referrals, grades and attendance records to check in with students who may need contact from our student services team.
4) Panorama survey results are confidential and allow us to target small group and school wide interventions to teach grit, time management and conflict resolution skills.
