Character Strong
All 7th & 8th graders receive 25 sessions throughout the school year. The sessions foster peer engagement and help students examine their values, beliefs and goals.
Xello
All 7th & 8th graders complete Xello modules in the first semester. Xello is a program where students learn about their strengths and interests. Students have access to various career pathway information so they may explore academic pathways and careers of interest.
Panorama Survey
All 7th & 8th graders (with parent permission) take a confidential survey in the fall to self report their self-management, growth mindset and grit skills.
Career Day
Every year, the counselors recruit adult members from our community to share their professional paths with our students. We expose our students to a variety of professions with the help of our community.
Small Groups
Counselors use Character Strong "skill building" curriculum to deliver 8 lessons to small groups of 8 to 10 students. Students are referred to the groups with parent and teacher input. Lessons are given during Wildcat Hour.
All students are able to meet "one on one" with a student services staff member. Students must first complete a short google form linked in the Wildcat Hour canvas page before seeing a counselor or social worker. This ensures confidentiality and the availability of the counselor/social worker. If a parent would like a counselor or social worker to contact a student, the parent may call or email a student services team member (see below for contact information.)
