Social Emotional Learning
Our counselors and social worker support all students with social emotional learning. Character Strong is presented once a week to all students during Wildcat Hour. Character Strong involves student well being, belonging and engagement lessons.
Academics
Counselors work with students, teachers, parents and school administration to address academic concerns/solutions.
Create a "charging" station at home. Macbooks should be plugged in overnight as they are used every day in class. Chargers should remain at home.
Talk to your student about only using macbooks for schoolwork. DO NOT sync an apple ID to the macbook.
Create a Canvas "pairing code" to help you stay "in the know" about your child's missing assignments and grades. Middle school is where positive study habits are created for high school and beyond.
See the SMSD Canvas link below for more information: https://www.smsd.org/academics/digital-learning-initiative/programs/canvas
Career Readiness
Counselors create opportunities to introduce career pathways to students. Counselors help students create an academic plan so students have an active role in their future.
Parents, enter your contact information here if you are willing to share your professional path with our students during our Westridge Career Day Event. We will confirm your availability when the date of our career fair is selected.
