I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! I also want to say thank you very much for making Teacher Appreciation Week so special.  I truly appreciate all the cards, gifts, flowers, gift cards and kind words.  I am so grateful for my special Kinders and their amazing parents! 

This is Mental Health Awareness Week.  Tomorrow, 5/13, the children may add green or tee shirts with positive messages to their uniforms.

Our theme for the week will be Fathers.  We will write about the many fun things we do with our dads.  Although we will not be in school around Father’s Day, we still want them to know how special they are! 

We will review our long vowel sounds and consonant digraphs this week.  Our final sight words for the school year are "please" and "thank".  Please continue to practice the sight words, especially in contexts, every evening.  Fluency increases greatly when the children know their words.  In math, we will continue to review addition and subtraction.  Please continue to practice the math facts at home. 

Our trip to Ladew Topiary Gardens is Friday, 5/17 in the morning.  The children should wear their uniforms.  Please send a morning snack as usual; we will eat it before leaving.  So far, it is supposed to be a nice day.  We will return to school around noon and will eat lunch in the classroom as we normally do.  We will not need a lunch helper that day.  Pray for sunshine!  

Our Closing Prayer Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, 6/5 at 9:30am in the church.  This will be the last day for kindergarten.  It will NOT be a regular school day.  The children should be dropped off at 9:15am so we can walk over as a class.  More information will be coming about our Closing Prayer Service.  Have a blessed week.
