About Our Project

STEM education is the future and we wish to put a greater emphasis on this area in our schools by creating a professional learning community of STEM Champions who will be actively engaged in collaborative projects, creating knowledge and sharing best practice with other teachers and the wider school community. We wish to engender enthusiasm in our teachers and pupils for STEM.

What is STEM?

STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.

How can I get involved?

  • Teachers - work together to build a bank of STEM lessons that can be shared with other teachers and schools

  • Students - learners will experience active hands-on science, maths and engineering lessons with an emphasis on inquiry based learning to prepare them for the modern workplace.

  • Community - We invite local industries to become sponsors or ambassadors for our project.

We will hold a STEM Fair to showcase our work and invite all stakeholders to join us in celebrating our achievements.
