Day four of our trip was a wonderful mix of art, exploration, and plenty of laughter to finish the night. Our morning began with breakfast before we set out for the day’s first activity. After meeting in the lobby, we walked to the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the most famous art museums in the country. Once we arrived, we participated in a guided tour where we learned about several important works of art and the stories behind them. It was exciting to see some of the museum’s most well-known pieces up close while hearing from knowledgeable guides who helped bring the artwork to life.
After the tour, students had some free time to explore the museum and the surrounding area. This gave everyone the opportunity to see exhibits that interested them most or simply enjoy walking around downtown Chicago for a bit. It was a great chance for students to experience the city and take in more of its sights.
Next, we made our way to one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks, Cloud Gate, better known as “The Bean.” We spent time taking photos and enjoying the unique reflections of the city skyline in the sculpture’s mirrored surface. It was the perfect spot to capture some memorable pictures from the trip.
Following our time downtown, we returned to the hotel where everyone had about an hour to relax and recharge before the evening activities. After our break, we boarded a bus and headed to Loyola University Chicago. Once there, students participated in a fun scavenger hunt around campus. The activity encouraged teamwork as groups worked together to solve clues and explore different parts of the university.
Our next stop was the Andersonville neighborhood, where students had about an hour to walk around and explore the local shops. The area is known for its charming streets and unique stores, and many students enjoyed browsing and picking up small souvenirs.
To end the day, we headed to The Second City for a comedy show. The performance was full of quick wit and improvisation, and there was plenty of laughter throughout the theater. It was a fun and memorable way to wrap up another full day in Chicago.
By the time we returned to the hotel, everyone was tired but in great spirits after a day filled with art, sightseeing, and lots of laughs. Another fantastic day in Chicago is in the books!
