If you and your family are isolating at home, here are some activities for you to choose to complete on school days:
Make sure you regularly close this 3/4 Google Site app to ensure it refreshes with up-to-date content.
Read for at least 15 minutes each day and fill this in in your reading diary
Read something on the Epic app (Class codes for this app are available on the Literacy page of this Google Site)
Complete literacy activities on the StudyLadder app (your classroom teacher will provide login details for this)
Identify the genre of the book you are reading. Is it a fiction or nonfiction text? How do you know? There are some images and documents on the Literacy page of this Google Site that will help you identify the genre of your text
From around your house, find 5 fiction texts and 5 nonfiction texts. Take a photo of each of them and insert it into a Keynote presentation. Label each photo with an explanation of how you knew which genre it was
After reading a fiction text, summarise the main events in your own words. You could record your summary as a video (using the Camera or Clips apps), in writing (on paper or using Pages or Google Doc apps) or in pictures (story map)

Go to the Literacy page of this Google Site and watch the recording of any of the books shown. What do you think the main character learnt from their experiences in the story? This is the message or lesson of the text. How can you apply this message/lesson in your own life?
Based on a book you have just read, share a story about yourself that is related to an event or character that was in the book
These writing tasks can be written on paper or typed on your iPad (Google Doc, Pages, Keynote). You are encouraged to do at least a few lines of handwritten work each day though to continue working on your letter formation and fine motor skills.
'Word Study Choice Board' - Choose any of the activities listed in this document to work on your spelling and vocabulary knowledge. You could use words you have spelt wrong in your writing, words you want to learn or interesting words from books, movies or TV.
'Handwriting Practice' - Choose any of the sentences in this document to copy onto lined paper as a way to work on your handwriting. You could also create your own sentences to practice with.
Write a daily journal entry
Write a recount about something you did on the holidays
Write a story/narrative with a character you have created
Write about something you love to do - explain what it is, how to do it and why you love it
Write a description of your pet - describe what it looks like, sounds like, smells like, feels like, what it does and what it eats
Write a recipe for your favourite meal, a dish of your own creation, a magic potion or a dogs breakfast
Choose a category and write a list of your top 10. You could list your top 10 songs, movies, places to go, things to do, Christmas presents, sporting stars etc.
Choose a category and write an A-Z list of words that fit with it. You could write an A-Z list of cities/towns, sports, foods, things you do at school, verbs (doing words) etc.

Make a list of the things that bug you; things your mum/dad always say to you; what you can see from your bedroom window; things you would have in your dream bedroom; things that make you laugh; things that are red/blue/green/purple...; excuses for not doing your homework; questions you have about school; things that can make a bad day better; what Superman (or any character) has in his pocket
Send an email to your teacher to tell them how you are going and what you are up to. Remember to use the Gmail app on your iPad to do this. We'd love to hear from you!

Go to the Numeracy page of this Google Site to find documents with lists of other maths games that you can play at home with basic materials like dice, a deck of cards, paper etc.
Work on your ability to tell the time - use this interactive clock to make and read different times on digital and analogue clocks; make a set of matching cards - include what each time looks like on an analogue clock, a digital clock and in words; watch the videos and/or play the online games for telling the time that are listed on the Numeracy page of this Google Site; complete any of the telling the time worksheets on the Numeracy page of this Google Site
Work on your understandings of number and place value - pick a number to count from and see how far you can get in 5 minutes; skip count by a chosen number - identify any patterns you notice; pick a 3/4/5/6 digit number and show it in different ways (digits, words, pictures, expanded notation, partitioning); identify numbers as odd or even; complete any of number and place value worksheets on the Numeracy page of this Google Site
Use the Canva app to make a poster about Mindsets
Use the Clips app to make a video about Mindsets
Use the Sketches School app to draw a self portrait. Around your picture, add words that describe you
Use the Keynote app to create an 'All About Me' book. Include a description of what you look like, information about your family members, your hobbies and interests, your strengths and talents, your favourite things etc.
Make a list of all the ways you can be a good learner, a good classmate, a good leader or a good team member
Go to the Inquiry page of this Google Site and watch a reading of the book, 'Your Fantastic Elastic Brain'. Record 5 of the most important things you learnt from the book (you can record these on paper or using an app on your iPad - Pages, Keynote, Canva, Clips, Google Doc)
Brainstorm all the places you can pray, times you can pray, ways you can pray
Write a prayer of sorrow, thanks, petition or praise
Make a list of all the things you are grateful for
