I have been performing outpatient hip replacement since 2017 for appropriate candidates. Patients going home on the same day of surgery is now the norm, and the majority of my cases go home. Recovering at home is greatly preferred.

This isn't for everyone, but for the most patients it has been highly successful and well-received. If you are without major medical issues, independently mobile, and motivated to return to your regular life and function, you are a candidate.
