BLAST OFF INTO READING!!
My big goal this year is to get students to read EVERY DAY! I know this is difficult for some children, but it will make a huge difference in the end. Reading for 20 minutes per day exposes you to 1.8 million words per year, expands your vocabulary, and builds a lasting habit. It takes very little time and brings big mental rewards. Please help us to encourage reading at home.
Each student will have a tracker to fill out for every night they have read. After they have read for 10 days, 20 minutes per night, they will be able to move their rocket to the next planet. They have to make it to Neptune by the end of the school year to participate in a HUGE end of the year party!!
