The SCHS Band Culture Contract is a commitment each student makes to represent our school and our band program in a positive, respectful, and responsible manner. Membership in this program means you agree to uphold our standards, contribute your best effort, and support the legacy of excellence established by those who came before you. Students are expected to follow all rules and guidelines with a positive attitude and a willingness to grow.
Our goal is to create an environment where every student can have a meaningful and enjoyable experience. Behaviors that create negativity, division, or disrespect within our group will not be tolerated. Students who violate this contract may be removed from the program.
Encouraging or pressuring other students to quit the band or discouraging new students from joining.
Spreading misinformation that creates conflict, tension, or division among band members.
Threatening or intimidating others, including band members or school staff, through physical threats, bullying, or harassment. This includes threats to the band director.Â
Engaging in cyberbullying, including participation in unapproved group chats. Any cyberbullying incident will result in disciplinary action through the school system.
Showing disrespect toward authority, including directors, staff, school personnel, or the community.
Speaking negatively about the band program to students or teachers. Reports from teachers may result in disciplinary action.
Repeated disciplinary issues (ISS, suspension, alternative school). Continued behavior problems may lead to removal from the program.
Failing to meet participation expectations, including not memorizing required music or repeatedly missing mandatory rehearsals.
Disrespecting student leadership, including Drum Major, Band Captain, Wind Captain, Color Guard Captain, and Dance Captain.
Creating conflicts with other school groups, which harms the reputation of the SCHS Band and does not reflect our values.
