1. Missing more than three days of band camp will result in removal. This is not to punish. We are on a schedule, and it is hard to re-teach the same sets of drill due to absences.
2. Missing more than three days of band camp will make you ineligible for leadership opportunities for the next year.
3. Remember, I am watching to see who is being a good example to their fellow band mates. This includes attendance, and following all attendance policies.
FALL Rules
1. If you miss a Thursday Rehearsal, you will not March on Friday night. Seniors, this applies to you as well. Even if it’s homecoming, you will sit out. Even if it is senior night, you will not go on the field to march with us.
2. If more than two rehearsals are missed this season due to unexcused absences, I will remove you from leadership, including Band King and Queen.
3. If more than three rehearsals are missed due to unexcused absences, you will be removed from halftime for the remaining of the season.
4. Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday. Please schedule doctor’s visits on days we do not have rehearsals. I understand work can create conflicts, but please do your best to work out a solution.
5. If I only have 80% attendance the week before a band competition, I reserve the right to pull us from that appearance . I need 100% participation. This is a team sport, and we need everyone trying their hardest to be here. I will not waste time or money to give less than 100%.
6. For fall rehearsals, I need notice of appointments one month in advance. For example:
An appointment on October 15th must be submitted the week of September 15th. This helps to plan my monthly schedule so that I can help accommodate the best that I can. If you have appointments for August, they need to be submitted before end of the FIRST week of band camp or it will be considered an unexcused absence.
I know this is a new way of doing things, but I want us all to take pride in what we do with the time that we have this season! I have great hope for this group of students. Please read the handbook for further elaboration of rules!
Thanks everyone!
