I believe the purpose of music education is to develop musical skills and provide intrinsic experiences to promote highest possible level of success for all students. Band and music classes provide students with a quality music education, positive social outlet, and a successful group experience that will remain with them throughout their lifetime. I hope to instill a strong sense of self-discipline, self-motivation, and an inner drive for excellence in everything they do. Students are learning more in music class than how to blow a horn or beat a drum, they are developing life skills such as discipline, teamwork, responsibility, self-confidence, social skills, and critical thinking skills. My goal is to help each student develop in these areas as well as provide a well rounded music curriculum.
