Homework Policy

HOMEWORK POLICY

Homework is a very important part of every student’s education and is an extension of classroom instruction. It provides students with enrichment, practice, and reinforcement of specific skills in order to assist students with mastery. It also teaches students responsibility and helps teach them good study habits that will be useful in the future.

Homework will be assigned 4-5 days per week. My goal is to not assign homework on Fridays other than studying, but at times it may be necessary. Written homework should take no longer than an hour per night. If your child is struggling with written homework and taking longer than an hour to complete, please contact me so that we may discuss solutions.

Homework will be posted daily in the classroom and students are expected to copy it into their agenda. The agenda is meant to foster responsibility and help prepare them for middle school.

Homework will either be reviewed in class together or collected & graded. I may not always convey to students which assignments will be graded, so they should always put their best effort into every assignment.

All homework graded or reviewed in class will be given points in Power School. Assignments that are reviewed in class and not graded will be assigned the following points:

0-Homework not done or not in class when due

1-Incomplete homework (Work not shown or directions not followed)

2-Late

3-Completed on time
