Stow-Munroe Falls Facility Master Planning Project
The Stow-Munroe Falls City School District (SMFCSD) has a rich history of delivering exceptional education to students in its community. The district currently serves over 5,200 students and operates the following nine (9) school buildings. They include:
Echo Hills Elementary School (Grades K-4)
Fishcreek Elementary School (Grades K-4)
Highland Elementary School (Grades K-4)
Indian Trail Elementary School (Grades K-4)
Woodland Elementary School (Grades K-4)
Riverview Elementary School (Grades K-4)
Lakeview Intermediate School (Grades 5-6)
Kimpton Middle School (Grades 7-8)
Stow-Munroe Falls High School (Grades 9-12)
Maintaining excellence extends beyond the work in the classroom each day. It also involves how the district operates, such as caring for the aging facilities. Despite the district’s diligence in maintaining the facilities, many of the building systems are nearing or are well beyond their lifespan. The buildings, ranging from 30-80 years in age, were not built with today’s teaching and learning needs in mind. The cost to operate and maintain each building, both from an educational and operational/financial standpoint, continues to grow. It is becoming more and more challenging to keep up with the aging infrastructure.
To better understand the long-term facility needs and best prepare for the future, the district is embarking on a master plan project. These efforts ensure that students have access to the best possible educational environment and that the district makes the best possible use of community funds.
