May Newsletter - 4 yr olds
The month of May has arrived so quickly! One more month left before we are done. Save the date for Graduation on June 5th . More information will be sent home soon.
We will have our Spring Open House in the evening of April 30th, starting @ 6 with our Scholastic Book Fair, Battle of the Books (2nd-8th grades), Art show and for any people interested in joining our school. It is a fun night for all. We will also have a food truck, ice cream truck and a coffee truck.
Themes
This Month the themes that we will be working on are: You are Loved by Mom & Dad week, work Zones, Super Year, Super You, Super Hero and End of the Year Bucket List (Kids Choice). We will also be wrapping up the Alphabet with the letters “Y” & “Z”. The children will be completing their Alphabet Books and celebrating with an Alphabet Party. On May 18th wear clothes that have letters on them.
Penny Fair for Pre-K & K will be at night on the 8th, 5:30-7:30. Come join us for fun and games. It is also May Crowning day. We will have mass in the parking lot. We ask that each child bring a flower to give to Mary after mass.
We will enter the work Zone and talk about community helpers this week. Who are the people in our neighborhood that make everything great and work real hard at making our community what it is. We closed out the Alphabet with the letter Z this week.
We move on to Super Year, Super You, Superhero. We will be superheroes this week and show our super power by showing off everything we have learned throughout the school year. Dress like a super hero on the 19th.
We will then have our Parent party on the 20th @ 1 for mom and dad in the PC. If they can not make it, we welcome grandma and grandpa. This is a chance to celebrate you, for Mother’s day and Father’s day.
We have Memorial Day weekend break May 22nd- 25th.
We will wrap up the last week of May with the End of the year Bucket List. This week will be a week of finishing off the year with things we really wanted to be able to do in school but didn’t have a chance until now. A list will come home with what the kids came up with.
We have several friends that have birthdays in June and July. Since we are not in school for this, we will celebrate them before we finish school.
Information regarding graduation will be coming home soon for you. Hopefully, you have already marked your calendar.
Helpful tip of the Month:
If you see your child trying to assemble a toy or get a book from a shelf that she/he can reach if she/he stands on their step stool, pause before racing over to help. Provided that they are safe, those moments when you don’t rush in, when you give children a moment to solve things for themselves, those are the character-building moments. It’s natural to want to make everything perfect, but if we do, we cheat kids of the chance to experience success.

June Newsletter
WOW!
We are in our last month with only a few days. Can’t believe I only have a short time left with your kiddos. We are down to doing our last minute of learning.
This month we will be wrapping up everything with evaluating the children one last time for their final report card. We will be making memory books, celebrating the last of the birthdays in the class and doing some final things before we are done..
Goodbye Pre-K, Hello Summer! is our last theme. This month we will celebrate the birthdays that take place in the Summer Time.. We will celebrate Gwendolyn on July 12th and Sky on July 31st. We will wrap up our year working on a Memory book for Preschool.
June 5th is Graduation. For our Graduation, PLEASE follow the instructions on the paper that was sent home regarding Graduation. Please let us know if you will not be coming to graduation, as well.
School Picnic day preschoolers are welcome. Because it is after the school year for us, if you would like your child to attend, a family member would need to be with them on June 12th.
What can I say but that I will truly miss all of the kids. We are with them for so long but yet sometimes it’s not long enough. Many wishes for a bright future in school and just know that they will have a spot in my heart, always.
Have a safe and fun Summer and God bless
Important Dates to Remember:
June 1st - Dress down for a Cause for $1 - wear a Summer outfit
June 4th - Last day of school - wear your Pre-K shirt one last time.
June 5th - GRADUATION DAY
Graduation Information:June 5th
All Pre-K 4 graduations are on the same day in the PC. We will have the ceremony and then there will be light refreshments and a photo op. Our graduation starts at 12:15 pm. The earliest that you would be able to start coming in is 12:05 pm:. All graduations are back to back. The ceremony is about 20-30 minutes and then about 15-20 minutes for the refreshments.
When you come into the PC for the ceremony, look for your child’s name. It will be on the first chair in your family's row. Your child will sit in the chair that has their name on it. Everyone will be in alphabetical order. There will be quick speeches, then the children will be coming up for their diploma and photo. Once all the children have been called up, they will then sing a song for everyone. The children will then be dismissed from the rafters and return to their families. After they have found their family, everyone then can proceed to the back of the PC for the light refreshments, gifts and photo op.
