Apps and Online Sources

iPod/iPhone/iPad Apps

1. Search "Metronome" and find many for free.
2. Search "Tuner" and find a chromatic tuner. Guitar tuners are not helpful for band students
   1. My favorite is the "Tonal Energy App". It features multi colored faces and is very user friendly.
3. Percussion Students - Check out the "Vic Firth" App that has rudiments, videos, and instructional tools!

Websites

1. www.metronomeonline.com– use this metronome to keep a steady pulse when you practice.
2. www.therhythmtrainer.com – this website helps you continue to work on the types of rhythms that are written in your music.
3. www.musicracer.com – see how many pitches, fingerings, and terms you can identify in a race! If you’re in the top 10, you can leave your name on the website.
4. www.musictheory.net – learn more about how to read notes, rhythms, and more here at this site.
5. www.rhythm-in-music.com - this website will teach you how to count, and provide examples. If you are having trouble using a metronome correctly, there's also helpful tools here!
6. www.vicfirth.com/education/rudiments - percussion students can work on their rudiments here! Watch videos and practice along with various sticking patterns.
7. www.jwpepper.com - this is a major website to find, listen and play along with many of the pieces we perform in band.
