August and September

August

August was all about learning/reviewing the rules and routines of the HES Library Media Center.

Make sure you check out the Beginning of the Year Letter from the HES Library Media Center.

It has all about our rules and consequences.

Most of the lessons in August dealt with laptop care, and book care.

Look below for some examples of the great Book Care Mini Posters created by our 4th Graders!

September

September still had us learning/reviewing the rules and routines of the HES Library Media Center.

Though we are starting to get into the swing of things as this month has gone on.

We continued to review laptop care and book care, but many classes also got to celebrate a special event!

International Dot Day

This day was created to celebrate the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds!

In this book Reynolds challenges all of us to tap into our inner creativity and bravery  so that we can increase our self confidence and find our courage!

This is one of my favorite days to share with our students because it is such a great message for students of all ages. And no matter how many times, I've read the book I still get chills and warm fuzzy as I did the first time I read it.
