The Great Mills High School Band thrives because of the dedication and support of our families and community. Whether you can help at one event, assist behind the scenes, chaperone students, serve meals, support fundraising, or lend a special skill, every volunteer makes a meaningful difference.

No musical experience is required—just a willingness to help! Volunteering is a great way to meet other band families, support our students, and become part of the excitement surrounding the Great Mills Band program.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

September 12, 2026 - Great Mills High School Marching Band Homeshow

Hosting a successful marching band competition takes the support of our entire band family and community. The Great Mills High School Band Boosters need volunteers before, during, and after the Home Show to welcome visiting bands, support students and directors, operate concessions, and keep the event running smoothly.

Volunteer roles may include:

Event setup and cleanup, parking and traffic assistance, band and bus check-in, visiting band guides, ticket sales and entrance support, concessions and hospitality, equipment and field assistance, volunteer check-in, judges’ and directors’ hospitality, awards and trophy assistance, campus directions and crowd support, donations of food, drinks, and supplies.

There is a role for everyone, and no previous experience is required. Volunteers will receive instructions and support from a Home Show coordinator. Whether you can serve for one shift, donate supplies, or assist throughout the day, your contribution will help us provide a safe, organized, and memorable experience for every participating student.
