Ms. Baker, NBCT GMHS Director of BandsChristina (Krys) Baker has spent 27 years teaching General Music, Guitar, Steel Pans, Theater, Chorus, Band, and Strings in St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS), Maryland, where she is currently Director of Bands at Great Mills High School. She previously taught at George Washington Carver, Town Creek, and Lexington Park Elementary Schools.
An alumna of Duquesne University (Bachelor of Science in Music Education), she holds a Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate and is a National Board Certified Teacher (EMC-Music). Ms. Baker shapes future educators as a National Board Professional Learning Facilitator and Assessor, an SMCPS mentor for non-tenured teachers, and a cooperating teacher/mentor for St. Mary’s College of Maryland student interns. She also instructs the Teaching Vocal Music to Children and Adolescents course within the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program.
A member of the SMCPS Fine Arts Leadership Team, she was the SMCPS Elementary Chorus Event Manager (2014–2019). Her guest conducting credits include the SMCPS Elementary Honor Chorus (2011, 2013, 2014, 2023), Charles County Elementary Chorus (2026), SMCPS Elementary Honor Jazz Bands (co-director, 2018–2019, 2023), and the SMCPS Middle School Honor Jazz Band (2025).
As a PMEA/MMEA clinician, she leads professional development sessions including: Not Just Playing Around: Games in the Music Classroom, Tips and Tricks for the Title I Music Classroom, Recorder the Kodály Way, The SMART™ Music Classroom, Scheduling for Unified Arts, Strategies for Management in the Fine Arts Classroom, Student Learning Objectives and Teacher Evaluation, Lesson Planning for Fine Arts, and Wrapping Up Your School Year.
Her teaching honors include GWCES Teacher of the Year (2012), The Enterprise Reader Approved Best Teacher (2018), LPES Outstanding Educator (2019), and Kay Daugherty Performing Arts Educator of the Year (2021). Off-duty, she is a professional live and studio multi-instrumentalist who plays 30 different instruments with various local and regional bands.

Mr. Samuel Ramsey GMHS Director of Marching BandMr. Ramsey is a marching band director and science teacher at Great Mills High School. With seven years of experience in education, Mr. Ramsey believes in creating an engaging, growth-oriented, collaborative, and inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive. He holds a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology in Education from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Throughout his career, Mr. Ramsey has successfully grown his college pep band from 6 members to 30 members and brings over 10 years of marching band experience to the program.

Hello!! I was a GMHS Marching Hornet for 5 years, from 2018-2023. I marched flute and alto saxophone, as well as a year of indoor guard. I also marched piccolo for a year at Towson University! I am very excited to return to Great Mills as a tech this year, here’s to an amazing season!!!

Hello, my name is Robby! I marched here at Great Mills High School from 2017-2021, as well as participated in our indoor colorguard. In the fall of 2022, I marched one season with Frostburg State University and started teaching at the local schools. Since then I have been at GMHS and can’t wait for the many more years to come!

Hello, I'm Brooks Morris. I played in the front ensemble from 2020-2024 for the GMHS marching band and the SMCPS Indoor percussion group. Since then, I have played in the Towson University Marching band for a year in the front ensemble and continued to help the GMHS marching band since graduation in 2024.

Ms. Haley ResicoMB Drumline Instructor
Ms. Haley Resico is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts with a concentration in Music. While clarinet is her primary instrument, her passion for percussion led to six years of performance experience on bass drum and cymbals. She is entering her 11th year as a member of the marching arts community, bringing a deep appreciation for the activity.
Prior to joining the Great Mills High School Band staff, Ms. Resico served as a percussion technician with the marching band programs at Moniteau High School and Chopticon High School, providing instruction and mentorship to students while helping develop their technical skills, musical expression, and performance abilities.
Currently, Ms. Resico serves as an elementary music teacher at Lexington Park Elementary School. Through her work as an educator, she is committed to fostering student growth, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music. She is excited to join the Great Mills High School Band program and help students achieve excellence both on and off the field.
