Governor's Proclamation for Environmental Education Week, April 17-28, 2016.
The Elms has been recognized annually (2006- present) in the month of April by the State of Maryland with a Proclamation from the Governor's Office during Environmental Education Week or Environmental Education Month.
The Elms was recognized with a Governor's Citation (April 1, 2017) from the State of Maryland for partnering with Volunteer Maryland to meet critical community needs in the environment.

The Elms was congratulated by the Governor of Maryland for three years of partnership in helping to "build stronger, healthier communities" through work with the Volunteer Maryland AmeriCorps Program.
The Elms has been recognized as a Bay Wise site by the University of Maryland Extension.
