PreK- 5 classes visit the library one time per week for a 45 minute period. In this time they will:
Experience direct instruction and/or small group work
Have time and direction to select their book for the week
Late Books
There will be no late fine charged for books less than 1 month overdue. Once a book reaches one month overdue, it will be marked as lost and the family will be charged for replacing the overdue/lost book. We are a team in keeping our books circulating therefore we will send home reminders when books are late. Please help your child return his/her book(s) on the proper day.
Damaged Books
Water, milk, fruit juices, food, rain as well as many other things will damage our books beyond repair. Please be sure to keep books in a safe place away from pets, food, drinks and small children who may want to draw, color or tear pages and covers. A bill will be sent home for books that are returning in non-circulating condition. Thank you for your cooperation!
Fine Payment
Students are taught responsibility through the circulation of books and materials from the Media Center. In an effort to get more books in student hands and keep the collection growing to a robust level if your child brings home a notice of payment needed, please pay for it in cash or check written to Lettie Marshall Dent Elementary School. Children are permitted to bring payment for their books but parents are welcome to come in as well.
A receipt will be issued and the fine will be removed from the child's account.
Refunds
A full refund will be issued if the book was paid for (in cash or check) and is returned in circulating condition.
