Artist's Statement

Born, raised, and educated in Southern California, I love living in the nature of the Santa Cruz mountains on the San Francisco peninsula. While I draw inspiration from hiking, biking, and kayaking in and around the Bay Area, I find even more in the lessons of history, in unsung heroes, and in the synergy of ideas - searching for truth in the eye of a paradox. I hope to inspire my students to work smart hard, play fair and often, put strength in their kindness, find that beauty, and revel in the art of living a good life (or the life of making good art?) Peace, love, and understanding!
