Heirloom Garden

The Heirloom Garden is formed through a partnership between Historic St. Mary's City and St. Mary's College of Maryland. Students maintain the farm in order to learn about early and sustainable farming techniques while simultaneously growing the food needed by HIstoric St. Mary's City for colonial hearth cooking demonstrations and other food-based, living history programming. The partnership also provides visitors of Historic St. Mary's City a unique opportunity to see and learn about heirloom plants, and allows St. Mary's College students a hands on learning experience.
