This Writers' Harvest reading is a special thing: an entirely student-run, service-learning event to raise awareness and resources for Farming 4 Hunger, a nonprofit in Southern Maryland that helps to assuage food insecurity through locally grown and distributed food. This year, Farming 4 Hunger has also partnered with our own Kate Farm as part of a program offering prison inmates opportunities to plant, grow, and harvest food.

In addition to hearing some of their food stories, you'll also have an opportunity to taste dishes made by the student themselves--including some of them with Kate Farm ingredients.
