Volunteer Orientation Events are a chance for students, staff, faculty, and community members of all stripes and spots come together to learn about the Kate Chandler Campus Community Farm, tour our variety of projects and initiatives, lend a hand starting off the new semester and season, and sup seasonal ingredients on pizza made on site at the Kate Farm.
Over 50 folx joined us Friday September 9 and Saturday Sep 10. We reorganized raised beds, began laying down weed barrier and wood chips, and ate ourselves giddy on fresh pizza with roasted garlic grown, harvested, and cured at the Kate Farm.
As he shook a tablecloth during clean up afterwards, one volunteer said, "I hope there aren't any bulls around here."
