“Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.”
-Roger Crawford
Damage to this pathway is clear, having been greatly eroded by storm surge. Please use the pathway responsibly by following all directive and warning signs. Thank you.
Sit on the bench with your feet flat on the ground and hands resting at your sides. Relax your shoulders. Close your eyes or relax your gaze.
Bring your awareness to your surroundings. What do you feel? What sounds do you hear? Can you smell the sea air?
As you sit and look out over the bay at the options of pathways a boat may take, having to consider obstacles seen and unseen, ask yourself these questions:
Has your path been linear or more winding?
How have obstacles in your life altered your path?
Are you able to recognize the need to change the course of your path?
Can you perceive your destination, your goals in life?
Life does not come with a compass,
no map to guide the way.
No torch to light the road ahead.
no answer when we pray.
We all must choose the path we tread,
living from day to day,
and trust whatever route we take
will not lead us astray.
And as we journey on through life,
we search for pastures green,
and try our best to navigate
the road that can't be seen.
But all the plans that we may make
somehow will all depend,
on any hidden obstacle,
that lies beyond the bend.
