With this mindset, we invite motivated and driven students and scholars from a wide range of disciplines—including engineering, computer science, biology, pharmacy, and related fields—to learn and apply novel skills toward healthcare applications.

Diversity and Inclusivity

As we recognize the importance of diversity in immunology, infectious disease, and healthcare research, we also emphasize the need for diversity and inclusion within the scientific workforce to ensure equitable benefits from scientific and healthcare advancements [link 1, link 2]. We aim to build a team of students and scholars from diverse educational and socioeconomic backgrounds, moving toward the vision of “science by all and science for all.” We actively and intentionally practice unbiased science to foster inclusive progress in research and innovation [link].

While we explore ways to invent personalized medicine through our research, we also acknowledge that each individual's life journey is unique. We foster an encouraging learning environment where team members support one another in discovering their unique paths and play a strong, uplifting role as they navigate them, making the experience rewarding for everyone involved.

Research Integrity

The implications of poor or fraudulent research in healthcare can have far-reaching consequences, affecting patient care, medical interventions, and the overall implementation of healthcare policy [link]. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for any form of fraudulent research behavior. Robust methodology, along with transparent and honest reporting, forms the core foundation of the lab.
