Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with hands-on, career-connected learning that blends academic knowledge with technical skills aligned to high-demand industries. In the San Luis Valley, CTE pathways prepare students for postsecondary education, industry credentials, and local employment through sequenced coursework, work-based learning, and partnerships with regional colleges, employers, and community organizations. This page will focus on building and strengthening regional CTE connections across the San Luis Valley, supporting collaboration among districts, SLV BOCES, and workforce partners to expand access to high-quality CTE pathways. The goal is to ensure students across the Valley, regardless of school size or location, can participate in rigorous, fully authorized CTE opportunities that lead to meaningful credentials, career readiness, and long-term success.
The Colorado CTE website serves as the central resource for Career & Technical Education across the state, outlining the vision, mission, and strategic direction for CTE programming, and providing tools and support for educators, administrators, and partners. It includes information about Colorado’s strategic plan for expanding access to quality, industry-aligned CTE programs that prepare learners for high-wage, high-skill employment; links to practical resources such as the Administrators Handbook, work-based learning toolkits, credentialing and professional development supports, approved CTE programs, and important dates; opportunities to connect with the broader CTE community through events, news, and newsletters; and contacts for state CTE leadership and support services.
