This is my most favorite unit and project in STREAM! I had to understand and learn the basics of building a 3D model. Afterwards, I took inspiration from other articulated models to create my own--Jake the Dog. I used Fusion 360 a majority of the time.
Objective: Recreate the models given. Use your knowledge of dimension lines and leader lines.
I used Fusion 360 to build the models. I honestly enjoyed this so much since I've never been introduced to making 3D models.
Objective: Create 6 individual models on Fusion 360.
This part of the unit leading up to the project helped me broaden my knowledge on modelling a variety of objects.
I think I like this assignment the most because I've always watched other people make 3D stuff but never being able to make one myself.
Objective: Create an articulated model using Fusion 360. The final deliverables include a completed model and a full set of technical drawings.
I first started with sketching and planning out my articulated model. I determined that it should be about 2.5 inches with about 3 different models. The first is Jake the Dog's head, the second his mid-torso, and the last his lower torso. His second torso is duplicated to make it look cuter!
Final Results: I was able to create my first articulated model, Jake the Dog on time. This was a very fun project and process.
This is the most satisfying part of the project because I got to observe how my articulated model would print out since I have not 3D printed in years. I got to design my favorite character too!! I love Jake the Dog.
