Come and join us for an opportunity to celebrate some of our great sports teams here at the university. We have a rich tradition of athletic success here at SLU and if you know a little bit about that history, you might be able to win a prize from the Athletic Department. Below are some of the great coaches you will hear from:
Director of Athletics
Chris May
Saint Louis University Director of Athletics Chris May has guided Billiken athletics to consistent growth and a high level of success since taking the helm Jan. 30, 2008.
The mission of Saint Louis athletics under May's leadership is to deliver a program of academic and athletic excellence and engage the University community in sharing the success of Billiken student-athletes. His vision is to fully integrate SLU athletics into the Saint Louis University community through the realization of the department's strategic objectives of education, competition and building community.
Women's Soccer Head Coach
Katie Shields
In 2023, Katie Shields began her second decade as head coach of the Saint Louis University women’s soccer program by once again guiding the Billikens to a historic season.
Saint Louis captured a fifth Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season championship in six years and extended its A-10 record for consecutive league tournament titles to six.
Men's Soccer Head Coach
Kevin Kalish
Kevin Kalish, a Saint Louis University alumnus and Billiken All-American, is in his fifth season at the helm of the Billikens’ men’s soccer program in 2022.
The 2021 Billikens won the A-10 Championships and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship, the Bills’ deepest run in the NCAAs since 2003.
Women's Basketball Head Coach
Rebecca Tillett
Rebecca Tillett was named the head women’s basketball coach at Saint Louis University on April 12, 2022, becoming the eighth head coach in the program’s history.
In her first season at the helm of the Billikens women’s basketball program, Tillett made history, leading the team to its first-ever Atlantic 10 Conference tournament championship and NCAA Tournament berth. In her second season she led the Billikens to the WNIT title.
Men's Basketball Head Coach
Josh Schertz
Saint Louis University announced on April 6 that Josh Schertz has been named head coach of the Billikens’ men’s basketball program.
Schertz comes to SLU from Indiana State, where he just completed his third season with the Sycamores and led them to a 32-7 record and a magical run to the NIT championship game.
