Emperor Henry II and Empress Kunigunde http://gardenofmary.com/st-cunegundes/
Both Henry II and his wife Kunigunde were canonized in 1146 and 1200 respectively. Although married, their relationship was strictly spiritual; they both remained virgins through their whole lives. The pair is well known both for contributing to the founding of Germany's quintessential cathedral and for their saintliness, making them even more important.
There are two interesting miracles said to have occured with both of them. Someone had caught Kunigunde walking alone out of the chambers of a guard, thinking she had been untrue to her husband. To prove her innocence, Kunigunde was able to walk across hot coals unharmed. In another miracle, Kunigunde's bed caught fire, and she was able to extinguish it immediately by making the sign of the cross.
For Henry's miracle, he was outnumbered in a battle and decided to invoke three martyrs for help. An angel along with the martyrs descended before the enemy, causing them to flee in fear, allowing him to win the battle.
The Bamberg Cathedral is dedicated to the saints Peter and George.

In this depiction (not from Bamberg) the couple has an eerie similarity to the appearance of the Virgin Mary and Christ.
