About Mrs. Guin

Hello and welcome to my classroom!  I am looking forward to a remarkable year with you and your child!  It is my goal that your child is successful in my classroom in every way, and I will work to the best of my ability to instill the same love of literature, grammar and writing in all students that is equivalent to my own passion.  This is my eighth year at Slocum ISD and my 22nd year teaching.  I absolutely love what I do, and I can only hope that the love I have for your child and writing will be reflected in all that I do during this school year.  I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas State University and a master's degree in education from Houston Baptist University. I have been married to my best friend for 37 years, and our family consists of our son Mason, his wife Stefanie, our daughter Peyton, our son-in-law Tommy, and our black lab Rain.  In our free time, we enjoy camping, fishing, and spending time with our loved ones.  This summer, we spent some time traveling across the country and riding our side-by-side! I also enjoy writing poetry. dabbling in DIY's, and laughing!!  I know that this school year is going to be a memorable and impactful year in your child's life, and I thank you for allowing me to partner with you in this journey.
