About

A. Dasha Novotny, known mononymously as Dasha, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress, as well as a San Luis Obispo High School alumna. During her time with the Drama Club, Dasha quickly built a prolific acting career for herself and became known as a staple female lead. Dasha landed her first leading role as a sophomore in Guys and Dolls (2016), a rare honor for an actor so young, launching her to further leads in Footloose (2017), Annie (2018), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2018), and Bye Bye Birdie (2018). Dasha additionally was a member of the Improv Team and served as the ASB Commissioner of Arts from 2017–2018. For her work with the program and in the academic theater pathway, Dasha received a Golden Tiger Award for Theatre in 2018.

Since graduating, Dasha has established herself as a singer and songwriter and gained a significant following. After signing with Famouz Records in 2019, Dasha announced her debut single "Don't Mean a Thing," in April 2020, a joint release with Sony and RCA Germany.[1] She later found success with singles "None of My Business" (2020), "21st Birthday" (2021), and "More Than This" (2021), among others. Her debut EP $hiny Things was released in 2021, and her debut album Dirty Blonde was released in 2023.
