The Principal Teacher of Pupil Support in Holy Cross High School is responsible for:

 The pastoral, curricular, social and vocational guidance of all pupils in their charge as directed by DHT Pupil Support.

• Managing the attendance, timekeeping and general progress and welfare of their caseload of young people in line with GIRFEC.

• Keeping pastoral notes and pupil file records up-to-date and completing single agency referrals or any other reports as appropriate- in Line with principles of GIRFEC

• Liaising with parents and carers, teachers and any supporting partners as required

• The planning, development, management and review of Personal, Social and Health Education within Holy Cross High School

• In consultation and partnership with the Careers Officer the planning of careers inserts into PSHE programme.

• Providing advice and guidance to other teachers on the delivery of PSHE lessons

• The completion of references and reports (Including UCAS) for current and former pupils

• As directed by DHT, liaising with associated primary schools and contributing to the preparation of pupils for transfer to Holy Cross High School

• Carrying out a planned programme of pupil interviews throughout the school year

• Preparing for and attending and contributing to JAT meetings

• Attending Children’s Panel hearings, Social Work Meetings, Child Protection Meetings and Planning and Review meetings for young people with Additional Support Needs

• Liaising with supporting partners-Attendance Officer, Social Work, Psychological Services, Careers, Active Breaks, Counsellor, Home School partner

• Liaising closely with Support for Learning

• As directed by DHT, supporting volunteer teachers with pupil support responsibilities

• Attending and contributing to Pupil Support Team Meetings

• Promoting by example all school policies in relation to the pastoral, social and spiritual development of all pupils
