Vocal Ensembles

Concert Choir

Concert Choir welcomes singers of any level to develop their skills at performing, sight-reading, part-reading, and singing as an ensemble. This group performs in concerts at SKHS and at interscholastic competitions.

eSKape

eSKape is a contemporary select choir for singers who are ready to sing advanced music, often a capella. The group performs at events in and out of school, including interscholastic competitions.

Admission is by audition only. Auditions are held in the spring prior to the upcoming school year.

Instrumental Ensembles

Jazz Band

Jazz Band is a group made up of percussion, guitar, wind, and piano players. Musicians in the ensemble work on performance and improvisation in the jazz musical genre. The group performs at events in and out of school, including interscholastic competitions.

Admission is by audition only. Auditions are held in the spring prior to the upcoming school year.

Concert Band

Concert Band includes players of woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments. This class works on improving performing, listening, music reading, and technical playing skills. This group performs in concerts at SKHS and at interscholastic competitions. Concert Band members also perform at football games and march in the Veteran's Day and Memorial Day parades.

String Ensemble

String Ensemble includes string players (violin, viola, cello, bass). This class works on improving performing, listening, music reading, and technical playing skills. The String Ensemble performs both on its own (in and out of school) and as a part of the Symphony Orchestra.

Symphony Orchestra

Symphony Orchestra runs fall and spring semesters and takes place after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The group includes woodwind, brass, percussion, and string players and performs in concerts at SKHS and at interscholastic competitions. Incoming 9th graders may have to take either String Ensemble or Concert Band concurrently.
