About Signora Carroll

Ciao, amici d'italiano!

I've been teaching Italian at SKHS since 2001. After growing up in Westerly (West-Italy) and graduating from WHS, I then studied and graduated from URI with degrees in Italian and Secondary Ed and a minor in Spanish. Three years into my career here at SKHS, I decided to obtain a Master's in Italian and I pursued that at Middlebury College in Vermont where I spent three summers and ultimately earned my MA in Italian. This Master's Degree allows me to offer college credit to my students that take AP Italian through Rhode Island College. I am very pleased to be the only language teacher to be able to offer my students that opportunity. After completing four years studying Italian here at SKHS, our students are super prepared for Italian at the college level. Many, many, many of our Italian students continue to study Italian at the college level and studying in Italy.

So, if you're considering studying Italian, I STRONGLY suggest you do! Maybe you are interested in Italian language, cuisine, music, international business, etc. Or maybe you have some Italian blood running through your veins... WHATEVER the reason, you will love it! We at SKHS celebrate the language and culture of Italy, not only in the classroom, but out if it, too! Join the SKHS Italian Club! Enjoy the ride!! Ferraris and Fiats are waiting for you!
