The vision at Skagit Adventist Academy is to cultivate a strong, moral foundation and a deep connection to Christ, guiding students to become compassionate, thoughtful leaders who are prepared to make a positive impact in the world.
Research consistently shows that when families are directly involved in the school environment, students achieve higher academic results, show increased confidence, and develop stronger social skills. In other words, they are set up to become empowered and compassionate leaders. We value this at SAA which is why we created S.A.L.T. (Serving And Learning Together). This new volunteer program is designed to encourage families to be involved and help the school to be a success for the students. In addition, this program aims to keep tuition costs down and bring about a spirit of community, cooperation, and service.
Your involvement matters. Our school is more than just a building; it is a community. By contributing your time, you help us enhance learning, expand opportunities, and build connection. Parent-led clubs and events provide enrichment beyond the standard curriculum. When students see their families engaged in their education, it reinforces the value of learning and service.
SAA has been blessed for years with so many faithful volunteers. THANK YOU! We are excited to use S.A.L.T. to build community, keep a more centralized list of the opportunities available, and work together for the benefit of SAA. There are many ways to use your gifts as an individual or a family. Thank you for all the ways you support Skagit Adventist Academy!
Beginning the 2026-2027 school year, we invite every school family to join our community by contributing a minimum of twenty (20) service hours towards school events, fundraisers, and other areas of need. The service period is effective June 8, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with any service hours completed after that date credited toward the following year.
To provide flexibility, families may fulfill this commitment through hands-on involvement or via an annual contribution of $200 in lieu of the minimum service hours needed. Families are also welcome to contribute a blend of service and financial support by fulfilling any remaining service hours at a rate of $10 per hour at the end of the school year. As this is the pilot year for our S.A.L.T. program, please keep in mind that the rate per hour may increase in future years.
For even more flexibility, students ages 12 and up with prior approval can contribute towards family service hours if parents are unable to be present.
Through the year, if you are struggling to find time to serve, please reach out to the S.A.L.T. Coordinator at SALT@skagitadventist.com.
