What is ACA?: ACA is an organization designed to empower passionate pharmacy professionals to provide exceptional patient care in thriving community practices. We mainly focus on compounding pharmacy and conduct educational programs about the field. We also facilitate networking and mentoring through various speaker events with pharmacists inside and outside the field. What is ASCP?: Learning about how to properly care for geriatric patients and directly educating them through sites such as nursing homes. We discuss everything we can do as pharmacists to prevent hospitalizations in this patient population through addressing issues such as polypharmacy, optimization of medications therapy, and even deprescribing when appropriate. We also participate in bigger events such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s which occurs annual in Philly.

What is APhA-ASP?: APhA-ASP is the largest pharmacy organization on campus, acting as an umbrella organization for all students to be a part of! What is SSHP?: Looking to join a pharmacy organization, but aren't sure where your interests lie yet? American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is the largest pharmacy professionals association in the United States, representing 60,000 pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians in all patient care settings. It is also the accrediting body for all pharmacy residencies and pharmacy technician programs. The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy's chapter of SSHP is an officially ASHP-recognized organization help introduce the practice of health-system pharmacy, pharmacy residencies, and practice advancement to student members. Members have obtained numerous opportunities through SSHP such as attending local/regional/regional conferences, connecting with the state affiliates (PSHP, NJSHP, DVSHP, etc), leadership, networking, participation in the Clinical Skills Competition and more!

What is DIA?: DIA is an industry based organization that focuses on giving students exposure to different areas and aspects of the pharmaceutical industry. Our goal is to provide students with information and resources that will be beneficial to them for industry experiences such as internships and rotations. We also hold speaker events throughout the year where you can connect with industry professionals and hear more about their experiences throughout their careers. What is IPhO?: IPhO offers students a way to connect with pharmacists that work in the industry setting, to allow students to understand the different functional areas a pharmacist can work in. Different to your traditional community or hospital pharmacist. Get to learn and understand the variety of roles pharmacists can hold throughout the drug development process as well as after it. National members have to pay a $100 fee a year. Leadership opportunities are involved through the E-Board positions as well as co-chair positions for the VIP case competition.

What is PCPediatrics?: PCPediatrics is a pharmacy student group of the Pediatric Pharmacists Association (PPA) at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. What is Phi Delta Chi?: Phi Delta Chi is a professional pharmacy fraternity with over 50,000 inducted Brother's across the United States. Chapters of Greek Organizations are often named in order of the Greek alphabet, meaning PCP's Chapter "Epsilon" is the fifth Chapter ever established in Phi Delta Chi history. Founded in 1901, Epsilon has over 800 alumni on their registry, covering all areas of pharmacy including industry. The Epsilon Chapter is passionate about our philanthropy, St. Jude, for which we raise money by holding various events throughout the school year including Pie a Brother for St. Jude, Scoops for Success for St. Jude, and more. Epsilon often hosts Alumni events for networking opportunities and friendships beyond graduation in which we encourage the Alumni and Collegiate bond. What is SNPhA?: The mission of Student National Pharmaceutical Association is to coordinate programs geared toward the improvement of the health, educational, and social environment of minority communities. What is ISPOR?: ISPOR is an organization that is dedicated to enhancing knowledge sharing in the field of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and sharing opportunities for professional development. Their goal is to improve decision making for health globally through HEOR. ISPOR is different from other organizations due to their focus on achieving health outcomes at an affordable cost. The organization incorporates pharmaceutical professionals in policy, payers, the life science industry, regulatory affairs, as well as patient-facing healthcare providers themselves to make decisions that improve health outcomes. Students at SJU who are interested in any of these fields get the chance to work together to make decisions that impact the healthcare landscape. What is LKS? Lambda Kappa Sigma is the oldest and largest professional pharmacy fraternity for women in the world. LKS is dedicated to elevating women in pharmacy: built on the core values of sisterhood, leadership, scholarship, integrity, and service.
Lambda Kappa Sigma was originally founded here at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy as the "Eta" chapter in 1920, but was recently reactivated after almost 20 years in November 2024.
Our philanthropy is Project Hope which works to make long term and sustainable healthcare available for people around the world! Additionally, LKS chooses a new women's health initiative for chapters to support every two years.
Not only does LKS provide a platform for professional development (including individual career mentorship from alumni), leadership growth, community service, and a valuable network of support for women pursuing careers in pharmacy– but sisterhood, memories, and connections from U1s to P4s (and alumni!) that will last years to come.
Although we are a relatively "new" organization, we have some very exciting plans for this year including sisterhood bonding events, a charity brunch, student pharmacist pageant, big and little sisters, alumni speaker panel, and so much more! We can't wait to see what the future holds for us and we aim to continue elevating women in pharmacy here at PCP!
