For Prospective Students

• Prospective students who are not currently enrolled at SJSU are encouraged to apply to the program in Computer Science at SJSU. You may also email Dr. Chheang to express your interest and include your CV. While he may not be able to reply to every message, strong candidates may be invited to an online interview. Applicants with prior research experience, peer‑reviewed publications, relevant industry experience, and well‑defined research interests tend to be the most competitive. Please refrain from sending follow‑up emails regarding the status of your application.

• For current SJSU students interested in joining XRI research, the most effective way to get involved is by enrolling in Dr. Chheang’s courses, such as the Project Capstone. Students who engage actively in these classes are often invited to contribute to ongoing projects, join a research team, or lead an undergraduate/graduate research project for academic credit. Paid undergraduate positions are less common, and will be offered to students who are active and already contributing to the group’s work.
