Our extended abstract "Semantic-Geometric Decoupling for Universal Spatial Anchoring in Extended Reality" has been accepted to present at a poster at ACM SIGGRAPH Symposium on Interactive 3D Graphics and Games (I3D 2026).
Three research papers, including two led by our fantastic San José State University (SJSU) students, and one major collaborative effort with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and Virginia Tech, are accepted to present at IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces (IEEE VR) in South Korea.
I am honored to have been interviewed by Maeil Business Newspaper about my journey from a small village in Cambodia to becoming an assistant professor in Silicon Valley. In the interview, I shared how a single computer at school sparked my passion for technology, the challenges and opportunities I encountered while studying in Cambodia, Korea, and Germany, and how these experiences shaped my current research in AI, VR/AR, and digital health in the U.S. Education has always been the bridge that transformed my life, and I hope my story encourages others to pursue their dreams no matter where they begin. Thrilled to share that I’ve joined San José State University as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science. I’m excited to build the Extended Reality Intelligence (XRI) Lab, where students and collaborators will explore the intersections of XR, AI, HCI, and computer graphics. Looking forward to creating an inclusive, curiosity‑driven space for research, mentorship, and innovation at SJSU. The journey is just beginning—and I can’t wait to see what we build together.
