All students deserve access to safe and stable housing. This page provides essential information about on-campus housing support and off-campus services, helping students navigate their options and make informed decisions to meet their basic needs.
Types of Services Offered:
Short-term emergency housing
Available to currently enrolled students experiencing homelessness, couch-surfing, or in an unsafe living environment
A case manager will assess the student's eligibility and determine the length of the student's stay
Off-campus housing search assistance
A Basic Needs Coordinator can guide the student in navigating off-campus housing resources according to the student's budget and other preferences.

HavenSafe is a resource hub focused on helping individuals escape domestic violence and unsafe environments. It provides support, guidance, and connections to emergency housing, counseling, and legal resources to ensure safety and long-term stability for those in need. "Applicants will not be asked about their immigration status." Must be a Santa Clara County resident for thirty days before applying. Can assist with the following: past-due rent, security deposit, mortgage, and financial assistance relating to housing stability. Funds will be paid directly to the landlord.

Mission Asset Fund: Offers services to help you build your credit through lending circles. "Lending Circles are formed between 6-12 people, and the loan amount ranges from as little as $300 to $2,400. Each month, a new member of the Lending Circle receives the loan until everyone in the group gets their chance." Visit MAFs website to learn more about their program.

Check both the regular student feed and the Housing section for students' listings of available housing. Create your own post informing students of your budget, move-in date, contact information, and other preferences.
Example: "Hi I'm Spartan, a 4th year at SJSU! I am looking to rent a space and move in by December 1st. My budget is $750-$900. I am okay with a shared room and pets in the house.
