Academic Advising

General Advising & Student Drop-In Hour Information

Thank you for checking in regarding academic advising. Faculty office hours are over for the semester, which means all requests for academic advising must go through the Chair of the department (Dr. Rachael French). You can also wait until classes resume and then we can set up a time to meet.

Office hours will be held in ISB 562. For GE advising, please contact the College of Science Student Success Center. SJSU students with fewer than 60 units should contact the College of Science Student Success Center for advising. Students with more than 60 units in the Molecular concentration should consult new advisors list, linked here. The CoSAC deadline to submit paperwork for graduation is the add deadline of the semester in which you want to graduate. You can find the registration calendar through the SJSU registrar’s website.

If you are a molecular major who needs to submit a course substitution form, please fill out the form and email the completed form to me.

Advising for the B.S. Biology, concentration in Molecular Biology

We can make the best use of our time if you can prepare your filled out 4 year planner before our meeting (available on the Biology Dept. website under Undergraduate Programs>Advising). Your four year planner should be filled out from now until graduation.
