ASPIRE IV
Description
ASPIRE 4 is designed to deepen students' understanding by applying their learning into the work environment. The classroom will focus on continuing to build a portfolio and increasing employment skills. It will provide real world, professional skills through a semester-long experience at a partnering business in our community. This course will give students a competitive edge as they acquire practical knowledge and skills useful in their chosen career field and/or post-secondary training.
ASPIRE 4 will blend classroom learning with work experience through a job-shadowing program. Students will build a professional portfolio based on their experiences in ASPIRE 1, 2, and 3. This portfolio will include documents that can transfer with them as they seek employment. Students will job shadow within a career cluster of their interest. ASPIRE staff will communicate with workplace supervisors to help build and strengthen the student's employment skills.

Students will develop a tool to help through their career exploration and planning process. Students will compile important personal, educational, and job-related data and incorporate this information into a career portfolio which will enable students to showcase their acquired learning and increase their chances for quality employment.
