ASPIRE III
Description
ASPIRE 3 will focus on career exploration and research. Following their learning of the Missouri Career Paths, Career Clusters, and Career Pathways in ASPIRE 3, students will complete inventories to narrow the focus of their desired career path. Students will then select various career clusters to research potential next steps to reach those goals. Experiences with local businesses, selected by student interest and investigation, will occur throughout the semester.
ASPIRE 3 will narrow the career focus for each student. Individually, students will assess their own interests, personalities, skills and values related to possible careers. Students will then explore and research local career opportunities. As a group, students will visit various local businesses to further explore opportunities within their career interest. Following the visits, students will reflect on their learning.
In addition to career exploration, students will develop an awareness and understanding of employment laws and where to obtain information about current practices. Through discussion and research, students will also develop their personal work ethic.
Students will begin to develop a personal career portfolio that includes research and skills needed for entry-level employment.
