Hats! Script
Scene 1
Finley B- Welcome, family and friends, to our 2nd grade performance Hats!
Rhys C- Today, we’ll tip our hats to you and share a very special show.
Zoey C- You’ll see hats of every kind — tall ones, short ones, silly ones, and smart ones..
Ashalyn C- But we’ve also learned something important: it’s not the hat that makes the kid … it’s what’s underneath!
—-------------------------------------Let’s Party—----------------------------------------
Amelia C- Hats may sparkle, shine, or glow, but what’s inside is what we show.
Evelina C- I don’t have a hat, but that’s okay. I’ll find the right one for me someday.
Claire D - We’ll help you look, we’ve got a lot! Try one on, and see what you’ve got!
Logan G - A doctor’s cap shows I care, helping patients everywhere.
Jesse H - A soldier’s helmet, strong and true, protects the red, white, and the blue.
Blakely H- A builder’s hard hat guards my head, responsibility guides me instead.
Miles H- A pilot’s cap with wings of gold, leadership helps the journey unfold.
Claira H- Yes, hats are fun, we all agree. But hats don’t make who you will be.
—--------------------------------The Perfect Hat for Me —------------------------------------Scene 2
Isla J- Is a policeman’s hat the kind you’d like to make? Or would a shiny badge be the path you want to take?
Titus J- Is that the hat you would choose? Would you rather bake and cook, with flour on your shoes?
Wyatt K- That is tasty, I agree. But a baker’s hat is not for me!
Murphy M- Each hat I see is mighty fine. But none compares to this hat of mine.
Ceder O- I would wear most any hat as a last resort. But I’d rather have a hat from my favorite sport!
Owen N- Owen N- Did somebody say sports? Batter up! Let’s play ball and turn it up!
Ava M- A dancer’s tiara sparkles bright, but discipline makes the steps just right.
Percy P- A painter’s beret is quite a sight, but imagination brings the art to light.
Gabriel S- A cowboy hat shades me from the sun, but courage helps me get the job done.
Leila S- A winter cap keeps out the chill, but kindness warms the spirit still.
Hollis T- A baseball cap is worn with pride, but teamwork matters most inside.
Oliver T- Try them all, both this and that. There’s something special in every hat.
—----------------------- Keep Your Head in the Game —--------------------------------Scene 3
Beatrice W- Well, that was great, it’s plain to see, a baseball cap is right for me!
Cate W- But they still don’t have a hat. Something’s wrong — imagine that!
James A- They don't have a hat, it’s true. Does a baseball cap seem right for you?
Isaiah A- No, a baseball cap is not for me. You’ll all just have to wait and see.
Ava A- A sailor’s cap is crisp and neat, but loyalty makes the fleet complete.
Caleb B - A scientist’s goggles help me see, but curiosity sets discoveries free.
Margot B- A judge’s wig may look quite tall, but fairness is the key for all.
Skye C- A musician’s cap keeps rhythm in time, but passion makes the music shine.
Elliot C- A miner’s hat shines underground, but perseverance is what is found.
Kaya C- Hats can cheer and hats can play, but what’s inside counts most each day.
Jay C- Uncle Sam: My hat should tell you who I am, and who I am is Uncle Sam!
All: We know!
Frances C- Okay! Now that that is clear, for the USA, let’s give a cheer!
Jay C- Uncle Sam: My hat is red, white, and blue. America! I’m saying “I need you!”
—-------------------- Uncle Sam is Who I Am —---------------------------------------Scene 4
Elijah C- Uncle Sam, I have to say, that’s the best hat I have seen today!
Jude E- The truth is, we love our brand new hats. But I’ve learned something new about this and that.
Ella E- It’s not the hat that makes the kid, but what lies underneath that lid.
Abigail F- I hear your words, and I know they’re true. A hat is a hat, but it’s not really you!
Theo J- Your hat might be a work of art, but what counts is your head and heart.
Charlie K- Wear your hat with plenty of pride, but remember what matters is what’s inside.
Samuel K- Remember to always do your part, for under that hat is a head and a heart.
—------------------------------------- My Head, My Heart —------------------------------------Scene 5
Aurora M- This has all been so much fun, but now it’s time for us to run.
Calleigh M- Before we go, we must impart these final words straight from the heart.
Vivian M- A hat may show the role I play, but my character leads me every day.
Grace N- Hats are fun, and that’s a fact, but what’s inside is what’s intact.
Sarah R- Wear your hat with joy and cheer, and let your heart shine bright and clear!
Mauri S- Whenever your day feels a little flat, you don’t know your this from your there or your that.
Ezra T - You’re wondering where your mind is at, or maybe you’ve had a bit of a spat.
Evelyn X Don’t get down. Forget about that. Go get yourself … A brand new hat!
