Wednesday March 11th 2026 6:30 PM at the HS Auditorium 

Hello, 1st-grade families!

 Our program is fast approaching, and I wanted to make sure everyone marked their calendars for this fun and important event! Our program is a brand new show called The Very Best Pet Show! Attached is their line for the show. Students are welcome to bring a stuffed toy for their “pet,” but it must be small enough for them to hold and put next to their feet comfortably. (must fit in their backpacks) Each Student also has an opportunity to learn and memorize a small line from a poem. Please make sure to practice this at home so your student is confident and ready!

​Students will perform their dress rehearsal for the school on March 10 (please send students with their stuffed animal). The evening performance is on March 11 at 6:30 pm at St. Joseph High School Auditorium. Please arrive at 6:15 pm and wait in the lobby until the previous performance ends. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome!  

Students will sit with their adults in the audience until we invite them on stage. Once the performance is over, we will dismiss the students back into the audience to meet their adult.

My Dog May Be a Genius Jack P - 8

1: Arlo M -My dog may be a genius, and in fact, there’s little doubt.

2: Myla M-  He recognizes many words, unless I spell them out.

3: Logan M- If I so much as whisper “walk,” he hurries off at once

4: Sawyer N- to fetch his leash... it’s evident, my dog is not a dunce.

5: Noah P- I can’t say “food” in front of him, I spell f-o-o-d,

6: Giuliana P- and he goes wild unless I spell his t-r-e-a-t.

7:Betsy P- But recently this tactic isn’t working out too well.

8:Catherine R-  I think my d-o-g has learned to s-p-e-l-l.

1: Samantha R-  “I want a pet porcupine mother! I said to her early today, 

2:Benjamin S-  she chuckled. It’s out of the question. I wish you would go out and play 

3: Edson S- Then, mother, I want a gorilla, or else I would like a giraffe! 

 She answered without hesitation. “Ridiculous! Don’t make me laugh!”

5: Alex S- Then,  Mother, I want a pet lion, I’m certain a lion would do. 

6: Margaret S-  I’d take him for walks every Sunday to visit his friends in the zoo,

7: Henry S -“You can’t have a Lion!” She told me, Be glad with a pet that you’ve got!

10:Wynter B-  I guess we’re keeping the rhino. She always liked Rhona a lot

Song 4 I Don’t Have a Pet 

I walk My Dog at Daybreak by Jack P- 7

1: Olive B- I walk my dog at daybreak and again right after school.

2: Cooper B- It's often  inconvenient, but I’m sticking to the rule.

3: Nikolai B- I feed the fish and parakeets my hungry cats as well

4: Leland B then tidies up the litter box before it starts to smell.

5:Alice B-  I tend to all the rabbits, turtles, gerbils, frogs, and snakes and clean the little messes they inevitably make. 

6: Eleanor C- The finches cage needs freshening, especially the tray,

7: Eston E- and then there are the elephants —---I’m giving them away.

I Put the Cat Out by Jack Pt -4

1: Behr Follett- I put the cat out and I let the dog in, The cat ran away and the dog licked my chin

2: Lainey F- I let the cat in and I put the dog out. The dog ambled off and the cat lay about.

3:Easton G-  The dog soon returned, I allowed it inside. It dashed at the cat who attempted to hide

4: Arianna G- Inside and outside and this way and that. It's tricky to balance a dog and a cat 

I lost my invisible puppy By Jack P 10

1. King H- I lost my invisible puppy when we were out walking today

2. Elliott H- She disappeared into the bushes and totally faded away

3. Willow- My puppy is not too apparent. My puppy is paler than pale.

4. Soren K- She tends not to draw much attention. She wags an invisible tail.

5. Scout K- She wears an invisible collar. Her leash is invisible too.

6. Zelda L-I fear that she’s vanished forever. She’s totally hidden from view

7. Abram M- I’ll miss her obscure little antics her odd in discernible tricks

8. Emery M- She chased inconspicuous crickets. She fetched undetectable sticks.

9. Ella M- My poor unpredictable puppy is probably still in the park

10. Andrew O- Perhaps if I pay close attention, I’ll hear her inaudible bark.
